The company was founded as a spin-off from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Lumicks’ lead instrument, the C-Trap, is the first and currently only truly integrated correlative tweezers-fluorescence system to captures all relevant information of a biological process at the same time. Next to the C-Trap, the company is commercializing a second product called AFS (Acoustic Force Spectroscopy), which is based on a complementary proprietary technology.
